The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is conducted in the following modes:
1. Online Mode (Computer-Based Test – CBT)
Primary Mode: The majority of the exam is conducted online.
Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for both Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) and Paper 2A (B.Arch – Mathematics and Aptitude Test).
How It Works: Candidates sit at a computer terminal and answer questions on the screen.
2. Offline Mode (Pen-and-Paper Based)
This mode is limited to Paper 2B (B.Planning) and the Drawing Test portion of Paper 2A (B.Arch).
How It Works: Candidates draw/design answers on paper, which is evaluated manually.
Key Points:
Online Mode: CBT ensures efficiency, quick results, and reduces human error in evaluation.
Offline Components: Drawing tests for architecture aspirants still require manual input to test design skills.
